Countdown to ICD-10: Train for a successful transition
ICD-10 training workshops for hands-on coders will ensure that your countdown to ICD-10 is a successful transition for your organization.
(BizHWY.com) September 14, 2013 - Los Alamitos, CA -- With October 1, 2014 as the effective date for ICD-10, Reimbursement Specialist has rolled out hands-on training workshops.

Having completed Train the Trainer sessions in 2013, the scheduled workshops are for hands-on coders.

ICD-10-CM coding presentations will involve complete review of coding guidelines replete with relevant cases for participants. General sessions to include multi-specialty cases are scheduled as well as specialty specific sessions. All workshops will have focus on the changes in documentation required to support the more specific ICD-10-CM codes.

ICD-10-PCS training is an in-depth orientation to the root operations and tables that all inpatient coders must come to master.

Victoria Menchaca leads the workshops and has been training others in ICD-10 since February, 2010. A team of 65 coders in Los Alamitos, California has successfully been prepared in ICD-10-CM/PCS. These coders will assist in the transition healthcare providers must make, by providing coding services when dual ICD-9 / ICD-10 coding will be necessary. This is expected to begin as early as June, 2014.

Reimbursement Specialist partners with healthcare providers to manage the business end compliantly. Services range from medical coding and billing to creating effective compliance programs and ICD-10 timelines for successful implementation. Maximizing opportunity while minimizing risk are key.
